PVJSA 2025-2026 WINTER BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Registration is now open for the 2026 PVJSA Basketball Season!
PVJSA could not be more excited to announce that Registration for our Winter Season is now open: PVJSA has 5 divisions: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th/6th + 7th/8th
We anticipate record levels of interest in our Winter League as kids will finally be able to hit the courts again this season. Register today as spots will fill up quickly!
We will send more information around evaluation dates for each age group. We will have experienced basketball coaches evaluating the kids to determine each player’s skillset. More information on times will be sent out closer to the date.
The PVJSA Winter Season will run from Jan-March with each team playing 8 games plus playoffs. Teams will have a weekly weeknight practice (determined by the coach). Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade divisions will play solely on Saturdays (games can be any time between 9am-4pm) Our 5th/6th as well as 7th/8th divisions will play on Saturday or Sunday. Saturday games are between 9am-5pm and Sunday games are between 1130am-5pm.
Our 3rd and 4th grade divisions will honor friend requests and we will work with the coaches to accommodate those and ensure teams are even at the same time.
Our 5th/6th + 7th/8th divisions will be a combo of a draft and friend requests. We will do our best to accommodate a friend request if we can but the main goal is to make the teams fair via the draft process.
We will hold evaluations in late November for all players in grades 3-8.
Coaches: Coaches are all volunteers (parents, siblings, caregivers, etc…). If you are able to be a head or assistant coach thank you in advance and please mark it down while registering your player.
All games and practices will be held at local schools within Lower Merion School District.
Juniors Select (2nd Grade Division), an exclusive offering for second graders. Second graders who participate in the Juniors Select division will get the same PVJSA experience as the older kids (PVJSA uniforms/practices/games with game clock and a referee). The focus of Juniors Select is to teach basketball fundamentals to our second graders to prepare them for playing basketball at the next levels. Each team will practice for 20-25 minutes before playing against their opponents.
PVJSA ALL-STAR GAMES ARE BACK! Each week, two players from each team will be identified as players of the game. At the end of the season, two players from each team will be chosen to play in one of two all-star games. In order to recognize kids who worked hard during the season but may not have been selected for the all-star games..
We cannot be more excited to see the kids back in the gyms playing for bragging rights!
