2024-2025 Travel Basketball
PVJSA Travel Basketball is an extension of our traditional PVJSA recreational basketball league, which has been operating in Lower Merion Township for more than 40 years. PVJSA Travel will have one or more teams for players in third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. This is a Fall/Winter Program beginning in September 2024. The following outlines the typical commitment for travel players:
- Players who participate in our travel program will be expected to play in the PVJSA winter recreation league.
- All PVJSA Travel Teams compete in the Inter-County Basketball Association League winter season. The ICBA winter regular season is a 12 game season - 6 home games and 6 away games - beginning in mid-December and wrapping up in late February. Play-off eligible teams begin post-season play immediately following the regular season and will wrap up in early March. In addition to the winter league season.
- PVJSA Travel teams will also play in the Competitive Edge Fall League beginning Fall 2024.
- Teams will practice weekly beginning in September 2024. In addition to the fall and winter leagues, our teams will compete in multiple local tournaments including the ICBA pre season tournament in early December.
Evaluation dates are as follows: (Note the evaluation grade corresponds to the grade your player will be in September 2024. There will be multiple time slots for each grade, we will send your player's time slot in the coming weeks.
- 3rd grade: March 10th 9:30am-12pm Welsh Valley Upper Gym
- 4th grade: March 10th 12:30pm-3pm. Welsh Valley Upper Gym
- 5th grade: March 17th 9:30am-12pm. Bala Cynwyd Middle School
- 6th grade: March 17th 12:30pm-3pm. Bala Cynwyd Middle School
- 7th grade: March 18th 6pm-830pm. Bala Cynwyd Middle School
- 8th grade: March 18th 6pm-830pm. Welsh Valley Middle School (lower gym)
